MUSIC CAREER

- Performed and taught saxophone at a young age while still in High School

- Went to BYU on a music scholarship and while there won several national scholarships and awards for solo work at national jazz festivals. While in college, had a full teaching studio of private students

- Taught as a professor at BYU teaching classes that included the Jazz Lab Band, Saxophone Quartets, jazz combos, private saxophone lessons, Saxophone Masterclass and Jazz Combo Masterclass

- Was the head of the Utah Valley University jazz department and taught all the jazz classes. Also, organized and ran the UVU Jazz Festival.

- Authored the textbook "Fundamentals of Jazz Improvisation" used at BYU and UVU

- Artist on the Jazz Hang record label

- As a musician, has performed with over 100 celebrity artists and/or Grammy winners

- Owns Utah Live Bands, a premier music production agency that has won 26 Best of State Awards and has been in business since 2005. Utah Live Bands represents some of the finest corporate event acts in the world and has started and manages dozens of bands and performance groups in all different styles. As a performer, Michael has traveled all over the world.

BUSINESS

- Has owned owned the following businesses: Utah Live Bands, Empire Casino Parties, Dinosaur Events, SlapLaughter.com, Morning rain cleaning solutions, lime boost, Stardust Stage Lighting, Cuddle Couch and Platinum Pictures Photo Booths in addition to ownership in several bands and entertainment acts

- Business broker for over 10 years, selling businesses and doing business consulting with Alpine Business Brokers

- As a business broker, won sales awards from the IBBA (international Business Brokers Association)

- Licenced Real Estate Agent and Realtor

- CBI (Certified Business Intermediary)

- Former member of SAG-AFTRA (the Screen Actors Guild)
