About Michael Tobian:

Mr Tobian has extensive experience as a leader in many facets of the music industry and also as a successful and highly trained business broker and business consultant. His career includes the following:

  • Owner of Utah Live Bands and Dance Bands, a premier music production agency that has won Best of State Awards and has been in business since 2005. Utah Live Bands represents some of the finest corporate event acts in the world and has started and manages dozens of bands and performance groups in all different styles. As a performer, Michael has traveled all over the world and played with some of the most well known Grammy artists and entertainers.

  • Was involved with the sale of over 100 businesses as a Business broker for over 12 years, doing business consulting and brokering with Alpine Business Brokers in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a business broker, Michael has earned the designation of CBI from the International Business Brokers Association and has won sales awards from that same institution.

  • Has owned and run the following businesses: Utah Live Bands, Empire Casino Parties, Dinosaur Events, SlapLaughter.com, Stardust Stage Lighting, Cuddle Couch and Platinum Pictures Photo Booths in addition to ownership in several bands and entertainment acts

  • Taught jazz music as a professor of two universities (BYU and UVU) and ran the jazz department for a stint at Utah Valley University

  • Authored the textbook "Fundamentals of Jazz Improvisation" used at BYU and UVU

  • Jazz Artist on the Jazz Hang record label

  • Michael is also a licensed Realtor, a CBI and a former member of the Screen Actor Guild. Other than music, his hobbies includes fitness, skiing, golfing, cooking, traveling, jet skiing, poker, fine dining and musicology
