- in 2021 michael was Recognized by utah business magazine as one of the “40 under 40” utah business leaders

- Has owned owned the following businesses: Utah Live Bands, Skylark productions, Empire Casino Parties, Dinosaur Events, SlapLaughter, Cuddle Couch and Platinum Pictures Photo Booths in addition to ownership in several nationally touring bands and entertainment acts

- Michael was a Business broker for over 12 years, selling businesses and doing business consulting with Alpine Business Brokers. Michael has been involved in the sale of over 100 businesses and has won national awards from the ibba (international business brokers association)

- licensing includes Licenced Real Estate Agent and Realtor, CBI (Certified Business Intermediary) and Former member of SAG-AFTRA (the Screen Actors Guild)

- Michael’s businesses have won 49 Utah Best of State Awards

- Michael regularly lectures at universities and schools about entrepreneurship

Music Career History (in chronological order)

- Performed and taught saxophone at a young age while still in High School

- Went to BYU on a music scholarship and while there won several national scholarships and awards for solo work at national jazz festivals. While in college, had a full teaching studio of private students and taught for the university

- Taught as a professor at BYU, teaching classes that included the Jazz Lab Band, Saxophone Quartets, jazz combos, private saxophone lessons, Saxophone Masterclass and Jazz Combo Masterclass

- Was the head of the Utah Valley University jazz department and taught all the jazz classes. Also, organized and ran the UVU Jazz Festival.

- Authored the textbook "Fundamentals of Jazz Improvisation" used at BYU and UVU

- Artist on the Jazz Hang record label

- As a musician, michael has the great fortune to perform and tour with some of the biggest names in the music industry. Michael plays drums, saxophone, piano and bass guitar professionaly

- Owns Utah Live Bands, a premier music production agency that has won 49 Best of State Awards and has been in business since 2005. Utah Live Bands represents some of the finest corporate event acts in the world and has started and manages dozens of bands and performance groups in all different styles. As a performer, Michael has traveled all over the world including France, Monaco, Spain, Turkey, Portugal, Mexico, the caribbean, Hawaii, Canada and all over the united states.

- In 2022, Michael started Skylark Productions, an event production company that focuses on sound production, event lighting design, video production, staging and event design and planning for conventions, corporate events, outdoor concert series’ and weddings.
